Guest writer, Aliza, shares some thoughts:)

Ok folks...this is from Aliza, my 10 year old:)  I love this girl!  I love that she has really seen the Lord at work already through Alyona and her time here. I just can't figure out where she gets her gift of rambling and tangents though?? :o  To God be the glory...

    When Alyona first came,she was all smiles. She got in the car and she colored on the ipad. I was surprised when she wanted me and my sister,Kaylee, to do some too. I never would expect for her to share when it was her first time on the ipad. She liked taking pictures with the ones she made. We also watched very little bit of a movie called the Smurfs and she laughed like crazy when they (the smurfs) were in the store looking for a“stargazer”.On the way home she heard us say mom and dad and she started calling them momma and papa. when we got home,she loved our house.
    Today, August 3, we are going to Kings Dominion and we can’t wait to see what she thinks of it. We hope she loves it.
    Alyona is so kind and loving and she even does her own dishes. I realized  how we lived and have tried so hard not to fight. On the way to maymont yesterday some people in the car(not going to say who) were fighting and she saw it and we noticed she was sad. I think it’s because no one at the orphanage fights because they just go with everything there. She even made meatloaf and butter and cheese potatoes when I didn’t want to do it.  We loved it.
    Last night after dinner she listened to music and started dancing. She had a groove going and started dancing with my dad. I had been reading but over my book I secretly watched. She danced with my sister before bed. I was going to say goodnight to my mom after my dad read to me and they were doing a dance for my mom. Finally, Kaylee has someone to dance with.now we have to adopt her i told my mom :) :)
    I realize how much she cared about this trip to our house. she is 14 but she acts like my age which is 10. I really hope someone will take the sweet girl I know while she is here. one time I just pulled her in to a hug and stood there with her. surprisingly, she hugged me back and held on.:)
    During the storm yesterday, i ask if she afraid of thunder storms.she said no and i told her i was scared of them. Yesterday also during the storm she told me and my mom that when she lived with her parents before, that they went to Kiev and she read the russian bible, she learned about God and got a necklace she never takes off.it has a picture of jesus on it.she had also made a puzzle of a cathedral with 300 pieces in it and that when she said she went to Kiev.i just love her and give her some long hugs at random times.
    My dad lays with me to help me go to sleep and it made me smile when she wanted to hold my dads hand. Alyona just loves my mom and dad.
    I love alyona and i see Jesus working in her even if she doesn’t know Jesus.every morning she wakes up around 6:50 so that she can see dad before he leaves work. she just always misses anyone in our family that is gone.
    No matter what, I am going to make my mom and dad adopt her somehow. If we do not than i will mourn over it for years and years before i leave it behind. I believe God is working in me since i accepted Him into my heart and life and to take over me.when i became a member i feel closer to God than ever even though it didn’t do anything to get me closer to him.i love him and I hope Alyona will to.
    She started to read the russian bible and then she said she had already read the bible. then she chose to read psalm 12 which says this

“ Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore;
    those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.
2 Everyone lies to their neighbor;
    they flatter with their lips
    but harbor deception in their hearts.
3 May the Lord silence all flattering lips
    and every boastful tongue—
4 those who say,
    “By our tongues we will prevail;
    our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
5 “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,
    I will now arise, ” says the Lord.
    “I will protect them from those who malign them.”
6 And the words of the Lord are flawless,
    like silver purified in a crucible,
    like gold[c] refined seven times.
7 You, Lord, will keep the needy safe
    and will protect us forever from the wicked,
8 who freely strut about
    when what is vile is honored by the human race.”

This is exactly what we represent and without Gods grace we would not be saved.

  psalm 136 says this

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
4 to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights —
His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.
13 to him who divided the Red Sea[a] asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.
16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.
17 to him who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings —
His love endures forever.19 Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan —
His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
His love endures forever.
23 He remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.”
this verse tells us to give thanks!!!
the last psalm is psalm 1
“Blessed is the one
    who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
    or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
    and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
    which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff
    that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
    nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
    but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”
this says how God watches over us.

I love these psalms because they represent God well.
